This year I decided to make a crochet gift to my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary, and the Spring Bouquet pattern by CrochetbyNataErkhova was perfect for it.

I had a tight deadline, so I made the flax flower pattern - it also had beautiful chamomille and branch patterns which I did not have the opportunity to work with so far, but I am quite glad with the results:

It took me about 4 hours to figure out how to make the first flower, and about 5 hours to complete the three others and assembly them in stems. I admit I actually made 8 flower bases initially as I was planning on making a bigger bouquet, but I realized I would not have the time for it as I started making it two days before our anniversary. I think the vase was a great solution to make up for a bouquet that could look small without it.

The flax flowers were easier to crochet compared to the chamomille pattern, but doing the petals and stems were a bit challenging to me since I had not done anything similar before. I am very happy with the result, though, and I really enjoy the idea of seeing this decorative flower vase that will be always blooming!

I started this project to share my crochet adventures, mostly with amigurumi and t-shirt yarn. I love experimenting with new crochet techniques and patterns!
